Need a new brunch spot? I have just the place!
In case you haven’t heard of this sweet, pastel-hued, contemporary French Bistro by now… I’m here to tell you all about it!
My friend Sue (Lipstick Jungle) and I met this past Sunday to catch up and eat some good food. Instead of going to one of our regular spots, we took the leap and headed to Cafe Cancan. After seeing multiple Instagram photos, our expectations were set pretty high.
Arriving just before noon, I expected there to be a long wait. It was extremely humid out that day (mid-October and we’re still feeling the heat!) so waiting outside wasn’t a problem. Lucky for us – the wait was only 20 minutes. Plenty of time to take a few photos of the iconic pink door beside the entrance.
We sat down on the pale blue seats and admired the decor. The walls had mirrors with crown molding and everything was painted pink. There was an accent wall painted with a yellow, pink, blue and green flower collage, and next to Sue sat two gold pillows. It was so dreamy!
The backyard had string lights lining the pathway and a few benches for some outside dining. Although we didn’t sit out there, we did take a sneak peek 😛
For brunch I ordered the Croque Madame and Sue ordered the French Picnic. The Croque Madame is made with smoked ham between toast covered bechamel sauce with one fried egg and chives. It was delicious (and quite a large portion). The French Picnic was a charcuterie board with a twist. It came with smoked salmon, soft boiled eggs, avocado, and all the regular charcuterie fixings 🙂
The whole afternoon was picture-esque. There wasn’t one moment that didn’t call for a photo to be taken.
Cafe Cancan also offers a lunch and dinner menu too! Not looking for any heavy food? There’s a great cocktail menu with light snacking options if that better fits your mood.
