As some of you may know, I’ve had some free time on my hands lately. With that free time (and with the help of some friends!), I’m touring around Toronto for some good coffee shops. Each week, myself and Jackie make a new coffee shop our home. So far, we’ve had nothing but cool experiences.
Our first week together, we stopped at Wilder. Wilder is a cozy, floral filled coffee shop in the Junction. Jackie had walked by a few times but never went in – so we thought it would be perfect for our first stop.
Exposed brick walls, wooden tables, chairs and benches are the first things that catch your eye when you walk in. There are delicate accents of floral arrangements on each table (with every colour flower in the rainbow). Beside the counter there are giant chalkboard menus that are updated daily with their specials. I ordered a latte and potato frittata (that day’s special dish). It was delicious! The frittata was baked that morning and was still extra fresh. Jackie had scrambled eggs and avocado (which seemed to be the most popular dish by far that day).
We enjoyed sipping on our coffee and researching for our upcoming new project together (very very exciting!!!!! more on this to come). I think Wilder is at the top of our list and will definitely go back. Who doesn’t love a cozy cafe in the middle of winter (cause winter is pretty much here *sad sad sad face*).
OFFSITE CONCEPT STORE
This week we chose something a little different – Offsite Concept Store. I have followed them on Instagram for a while, but am never in the area so I haven’t been able to go in. Offsite is a coffee bar, shopping boutique and art gallery on Dundas West. It merges coffee culture, fashion and art. The space is trendy yet minimal, and has a definite cool vibe. It’s decorated mostly in black & white with some wood accents and pops of colour on the jewellery and clothing displays.
There are giant tables for communal seating and lots of giant plants. I loved the greenery! It added a special touch. We sat at one of the communal tables and got to work. “Work” is a term I use loosely for myself these days – but I’m trying….lol.
Do you know of any good Toronto coffee shops we can add to our list? Let me know!! We love to explore.
