This past weekend, the Interior Design Show was at the Metro Convention Centre in Toronto. It is one of my favourite events that happen in the city, and this year was no different. IDS is Canada’s premier showcase of new products and furniture, superstar designers and avant-garde concepts from North America and beyond. And this year was the 20th anniversary!
Stefon and I went with a couple of our friends, Stacy & Nathaniel, and toured around the different booths. One very clear trend this year: funky patterned wallpaper & tiles (for the floor and the walls!) It was fun to imagine our dream house with so many of these fun touches. A girl can dream… one day.
One of the first stops was the DesignBoom Mart which held emerging local Toronto designers and creatives. Vendors included: Your Pal Al Creative, Homebody Collective, multiple jewellery & accessory designers too! It might have been my favourite part (I’m a sucker for gold dipped plant holders & succulents).
Other highlights included trying a Seedlip non-alcoholic distilled cocktail (very interesting – especially for someone who doesn’t drink that much), all of the amazing wood tables, innovative bathroom sinks and OF COURSE my ALL TIME fave the Montauk Sofa (I’m taking donations now).
Another successful IDS. If you haven’t been, you will have a chance next January. I suggest you do! If you have been – I’d love to hear your favourite part!
