Hi! It’s been a while! Have you missed me?
Well, I have an exciting post to honour my mini-hiatus (winter is tough people)!
Stefon and I had the opportunity to attend the Georgian Bay Vodka Smash Launch event last week presented by Georgian Bay Spirit Co. & ASCPR. It was a mid-week (and much needed!), boozy gathering with top notch craft cocktails, barbeque & mini smores’ pies! The theme of the night was Cottage in the City, and they even had a canoe in an infinity pool! It truly felt like a mini-getaway/oasis in the middle of the city.
When we first arrived, we grabbed a cocktail from the Georgian Bay bar and mingled. The kitchen table (which sat about 15-20) was decorated with bouquets of flowers and wreaths were suspended from above. The oyster bar was positioned in front of floor to ceiling windows with the Toronto skyline lighting up behind it, and the chef was barbequing ribs on the patio.
Soon enough we were seated at the gorgeous kitchen table for a tasting of Georgian Bay Spirit Co.’s products. A mixologist lead the evening and provided tips & tricks on tasting liquors. We sampled Georgian Bay Gin, Georgian Bay Vodka, the Georgian Bay Gin Smash…. and last but not least the new Georgian Bay Vodka Smash. Although I am not a huge fan of hard liquor, these were quite delicious to try.
We ended the night with dessert: mini smores’ pies! These tiny delectables were made of a graham cracker cup, chocolate filling and topped with marshmallows! A fun take on such a nostalgic (and cottage-y) treat.
Thank you Georgian Bay Spirit Co. & ASCPR for being such wonderful hosts! We had such a great time, and can’t wait for summer to start so we can sip on the Vodka Smash at the cottage (or…. our balcony… that’s more likely).
